If nobody is buying something, then the factory gets destroyed (or ceases to exist by some means.)Įquipment Docks only get the products that they sell when someone buys and sells the product to the EQ Dock (Military Outposts and Trading Stations are the same way). The game engine seems to base which stations live and which get destroyed based upon a calculation of Supply vs. If nothing is listed, then at the Equipment Docks that are listed under Sold as a Product At.Īnd if still nothing, then look up on Roguey's where the factories should be and go there and look for them.Īnd if there's no stations, then your last hope is checking the Equipment Docks that carry MDSes that are close to where the factories should be according to Rogueys (in hopes that they sold some to the EQ Dock before God destroyed them).Īdvanced X3 Economic Theory - you don't need to understand this, but it's related to your problem. Scroll to the bottom of the list and look for Factories That Produce This Item. Thirdly - Early in the game you are FAR more likely to find things like Lasers and Shields and Missiles at the FACTORIES that produce them then at an EQ Dock.įirst, look in your encyclopedia at the entry about Mobile Drilling Systems. It doesn't show you where things are that you haven't found yet. The drawback to the Encyclopedia is that it only covers the areas of the Universe where you've explored. You in-game encyclopedia is always right. The in-game encyclopedia (top icon on the left of the HUD : Advanced : Encyclopedia) will tell you where things are in your game.Īs the game runs, stations get destroyed, new stations get built, things evolve somewhat randomly. Your in-game Encyclopedia might be more useful than a site like Roguey's.
